Network adapters not showing in ipconfig /all
I have an Acer Aspire 5251-1513 with Windows 7 Home Premium X64, 8 GB RAM, 250 GB Samsung Momentus XT solid state hybrid hard drive. I am running Avast antivirus software. The rest of the components are stock. Recently I lost connectivity to the internet. I uninstalled both network adapters and installed the latest drivers for each: LAN driver = Broadcom 12.4.1.1 / WLAN driver = Broadcom 5.60.350.6. I can see both network cards in the device manager they show that the device is working properly. I can also see both network adapters listed in the network connections in control panel. When I run the network diagnostics it says "The 'Local Area Connection' adapter is experiencing problems". I have run several malware removal programs and registry cleaners including: Malwarebytes, Advanced System Care, ccleaner, cleanup, combofix, cfremover conficker_mem_killer, FixDownup, and McAfee Stinger. I have flushed the DNS. I have repaired/reset Winsock. I have reset TCP/IP. I have also tried using a USB wireless adapter and easy tether which do not work. When I go into the command prompt and enter ipconfig /all I receive this information: Windows IP Configuration Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : Muerte-PC Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . : Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Hybrid IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : No WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : No Tunnel adapter Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface: Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-E0 DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes I also ran netstat -ano and received this information: Active Connections Proto Local Address Foreign Address State PID TCP 0.0.0.0:135 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 848 TCP 0.0.0.0:445 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 4 TCP 0.0.0.0:49152 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 480 TCP 0.0.0.0:49153 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 984 TCP 0.0.0.0:49154 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 416 TCP 0.0.0.0:49155 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 600 TCP 0.0.0.0:49156 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 584 TCP 127.0.0.1:12025 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 1356 TCP 127.0.0.1:12080 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 1356 TCP 127.0.0.1:12110 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 1356 TCP 127.0.0.1:12119 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 1356 TCP 127.0.0.1:12143 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 1356 TCP 127.0.0.1:12465 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 1356 TCP 127.0.0.1:12563 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 1356 TCP 127.0.0.1:12993 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 1356 TCP 127.0.0.1:12995 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 1356 TCP 127.0.0.1:27275 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 1356 TCP [::]:135 [::]:0 LISTENING 848 TCP [::]:445 [::]:0 LISTENING 4 TCP [::]:49152 [::]:0 LISTENING 480 TCP [::]:49153 [::]:0 LISTENING 984 TCP [::]:49154 [::]:0 LISTENING 416 TCP [::]:49155 [::]:0 LISTENING 600 TCP [::]:49156 [::]:0 LISTENING 584 UDP 0.0.0.0:500 *:* 416 UDP 0.0.0.0:4500 *:* 416 UDP 127.0.0.1:1900 *:* 3288 UDP 127.0.0.1:49152 *:* 2692 UDP 127.0.0.1:49154 *:* 3288 UDP [::]:500 *:* 416 UDP [::]:4500 *:* 416 UDP [::1]:1900 *:* 3288 UDP [::1]:49153 *:* 3288 and here are the results from svchost.exe Image Name PID Services ========================= ======== ============================================ svchost.exe 724 DcomLaunch, PlugPlay, Power svchost.exe 848 RpcEptMapper, RpcSs svchost.exe 984 AudioSrv, Dhcp, eventlog, lmhosts, wscsvc svchost.exe 100 AudioEndpointBuilder, hidserv, Netman, PcaSvc, SysMain, TrkWks, UxSms, WdiSystemHost, Wlansvc, WPDBusEnum, wudfsvc svchost.exe 416 AeLookupSvc, BITS, EapHost, gpsvc, IKEEXT, iphlpsvc, LanmanServer, ProfSvc, RasMan, Schedule, seclogon, SENS, ShellHWDetection, Themes, Winmgmt, wuauserv svchost.exe 1092 EventSystem, fdPHost, netprofm, nsi, SstpSvc, WdiServiceHost, WinHttpAutoProxySv svchost.exe 1240 CryptSvc, Dnscache, LanmanWorkstation, NlaSvc, TapiSrv svchost.exe 1524 BFE, DPS, MpsSvc svchost.exe 1640 iprip svchost.exe 2004 stisvc svchost.exe 492 WinDefend svchost.exe 3288 FontCache, SSDPSRV, wcncsvc I don't know what the registry settings for network adapters should look like for to determine if there are any issues there. Hi, First, you can try to perform a system restore to check whether this issue still persists. Meanwhile, please try the following: 1. Test the issue in Safe Mode with networking 2. use the System File Checker tool to scan the system files Hop this helps Vincent Wang TechNet Community Support
