Network connection between two computers
I have a pc and a laptop both runnig windows 7 rc1. i've been trying to setup a network between them. my pc is wired to the router and the laptop is connected wirelessly and both share the same internet connection. but i can't establish lan connection between them. my pc can try to acess the laptop on the network menu but the laptop can't. they're both visible on both computers on the network map but not accessible. and on network menu in windows explorer pc sees both comps on the network, but the laptop sees only itself.

Check the Discovry option in netwrok settings. if everything ok then try worknetwork instead of homegroup and see how it goes..

Hi, Thank you for your posts. Additionally, I would like to suggest: 1. Please turn off the Password Protected Sharing in the Network and sharing center of the computers. 2. Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP: 1) Go to Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections. 2) Right-Click on the connection and choose Properties. 3) Find Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Version 4 in the list. 4) Click Properties, and then click Advanced. 5) On the Advanced TCP/IP settings windows, go to WINS tab. 6) Under NetBIOS setting, click Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP, and then click OK. 3. If you installed some security software, please completely disable it and see how it works. Hope this helps. Thanks. Nicholas Li - MSFT
