Network issue with Windows 7, Windows Web Server 2008 & Netgear NAS
Ihave a computer running Windows 7, another running Windows Web Server 2008 and a Netgear NAS Device. All these show up in Windows Explorer under the Network Tab but when I try to connect to one of them from the Windows 7 computer I get the eroor message 'Windows cannot access \\NAS-??-??-?? (? represents NAS hostname) or the same with the computer running Web Server on the network. How do I enable sharing and connection between these computers on the network? I can access the shares on the NAS device if I go through the front end of this device via the allocated IP address and I can transfer files between the Windows 7 computer and the NAS device when I do this but is there a way to access the shares directly from the Windows 7 and/or Web Server 2008 computer? Many thanks for any assistance. UPDATE I can now connect to both the Windows 7 computer and the NAS from the computer running Windows Web Server and share files to and from these computers. However I am still unable to connect FROM the computer running Windows 7 to either the computer running Web Server or to the NAS. Both these computers show up under the Network tab in Windows Explorer so I assume the Windows 7 computer is seeing them. However when I click on either of these to connect via Windows Explorer I get the following error message; Windows cannot access \\WIN-???????? (the computer running Web Server - same error for the NAS) Error Code 0x80070035 The network path was not found. Any assistance please>

Hi, According to your description, I suggest to perform these tests to troubleshoot the issue: 1 Logon with Clean Boot on Windows 7 2 Temporally disable firewall or anti-virus programs 3 Turn on network discovery 4 Enable NetBIOS on TCP/IP 5 Disable IPv6 6 Try to use \\IPaddress instead of \\PCname to access server 7 Register DNS via command: ipconfig /flushdns ipconfig /registerdns Hope that helps.
