Network printing problem
Hi The setup was SBS 2003 and a mixture of Win7 and Vista desktops. I had a printer installed on one of the Win7 desktops which was shared by the rest of the PC's, all worked fine. I have put in a new server with SBS 2011 and removed the desktops from the old domain and joined them to the new one. The printer which is attached to the Win7 PC I have selected for it to be shared and listed in the directory. Whenever I try to add it to any of the other desktops by searching for it in the directory I get the following error... Connect to printer Windows cannot connect to the printer operation failed with error 0x00000999 Any ideas why I can't add this printer and why I am getting this error. Thanks for your help! Gavin

Hi Gavin, First, please check the time and date as Milos suggested above. If the issue persists, is it able to ping this Windows 7 PC with printer installed by IP address? You may try to manually add the printer with the IP address to test. Also, please check if the following link helps: To find a network device Regards, Sabrina TechNet Subscriber Support If you are TechNet Subscription user and have any feedback on our support quality, please send your feedback here.Sabrina TechNet Community Support
