Network sharing domain v.s. homegroup
Hi, I have a bit of a problem with network sharing in a complex setup. This is the setup: 3 W7 computers } part of a global domain network; domain XXXX 3 printers these are routed locally in two directions: route option 1 - routed towards DNS (on the same domain) in Germany and forwarded to Citrix server for secure and fast network access through network repeaters. (when logged in the computers are policy managed through Group Policies in AD) route option 2 - local routing outside of the Citrix connection (when logged on locally users can work outside of the domain with no policy restrictions) additionally I have 2 more W7 computers and 2 printers that does not belong to the domain but are only used locally, these are setup using HomeGroup. 1 of these computers are the creator of the HomeGroup network with password protection, this computer also have some shared drives and acts as a printserver of the 2 local printers. I know with computers belonging to a domain it's not possible to create a HomeGroup, but it is possible to Join a HomeGroup. The 3 computers belonging to the domain XXXX have all joined the local HomeGroup with the network password supplied and all having a local account on the computer that acts as the creator of the local HomeGroup. Every account have priviliges configured for the shares and printers. My problem is that from time to time I need to supply the account credentials when some of the computers tries to access the shares, although they have priviligies and all. Is there an easy way in windows 7 to automate a login script that automatically: - connects to the HomeGroup network - maps the network shares on the local HomeGroup Basically it's just tiresome to enter the stuff over and over again when things fucks up, so I just would like to supply a script that would make sure that the network mappings are alive as soon as the computer starts. The reason why is because it seems as even if I set the "Remember credentials" it fails sometimes. Hope there is someone who can give a little input on how Windows 7 works with this kind of setup. Thanks in advance for any help!
