New computer and I have questions on how I am connecting and downloading from another computer?
I have a few questions but this concerns me right now. When I signed on to the internet (first time after setting up my new laptop (Windows 7 spk 1), when I went to the MS site to download something, it stated that the file came from another computer. Same thing when I downloaded something from Comcast. So I didn't install either item and deleted them immediately. Can't figure this one out. Why would it state this? I've gone through this twice now (once with being directly connected via Links and then I directly connected to the Modem.) ??? Suzanne

It says that because the "other computer" it is referring to is the Microsoft web server and the Comcast webserver. If you are sure you got the files from those servers, then it is OK to run the files. You will get this message anytime you download a file from the web (e.g., another computer). It's a security precaution. As long as you know that you downloaded the file and it is from a trusted source, it is safe to install. Da Bomb
