New download / update method in MS Update?
When I checked the Microsoft Update Catalog for searching a file that another user had asked me for, I noticed some changes: The download dialog has changed, the download method is another than a few days ago, and the files (driver files) are now a *.cab version instead of an *.exe version.Has someone information about this? (One obvious question could be added: What shall the downloader do with that *.cab version?) Mob. AMD64 3000+, 1 G RAM, Mob. ATIRadeon9700, 20x DVDRW, C:XPSP3 (55G),D:WIN7 (25G),F:DATA (250G)

Hi,thx for the links that will be helpful in further manual updates. But my general question is unanswered: What are the reasons behind the changes in the Update Catalog? All drivers' names have changed since last week, downloadable files are now compressed, no more executable, etc.Mob. AMD64 3000+, 1 G RAM, Mob.
