Newly installed W7 doesn't like YouTube
Hi guys. I have this problem with YouTube. Every time I try to watch a video, it crashes. I use Mozilla Firefox. I haven't tried to play videos in Windows Media Player or Quicktime yet.

Hi Ritmann, Please first check if the issue occurs in Internet Explorer (IE). If the issue persists in IE, please continue to try the following suggestions. - Disable security software such as firewall ====== The issue can be related to the security software installed. Please temporary disable or uninstall this kind of software and see if the issue can be resolved. - Install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. Please Note: The third-party product discussed here is manufactured by a company that is independent of Microsoft. We make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product's performance or reliability. - Start Internet Explorer 8 (IE 8) with No Add-ons mode ========= To do this, Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). Note: If the issue does not occur after you use this method, use the Manage Add-ons option in the Tools menu to determine which add-ons are causing the issue. - If the issue persists in no add-ons mode, please add YouTube to Trusted Sites ========= 1. Click the “Start” button, type “inetcpl.cpl” (without quotation marks) in the “Search” bar and then press “Enter”. 2. Switch to the “Security” tab, click "Trusted sites" and then click "Sites". 3. Type the URL of the site (such as http://www.youtube.com) in the "Add this Web site to the zone" box and click “Add” 4. Uncheck the "Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone" box and click “Close”. - Also, check the issue in Clean Boot. If the issue disappears in the Clean Boot environment, we can use a 50/50 approach to quickly narrow down which entry is causing the issue. Hope this helps. Regards, Linda

Sounds like Firefox is crashing. Wouldn't be so quick to blame it on windows 7.I've noticed youtube getting flakey at times over the past year or two.Seemed to start around the time that Chrome was introduced.Usually it works on Chrome. Of course that has nothing to do with G**gle owning youtube and chrome.I use IE about 80% of the time, and other browsers for site specific compatibility and features like stopping popups when IE is susceptible.
