Hello, the problem I face, is that with Windows 7 Enterprise I'm not abel to access Novell Shares.I Type in the file explorer \\servername and it lists me Novell Shares. As soon as I want to browse in to this shares I got "you do not have permission to access \\"....If I perform these Steps on my XP maschine it works perfect.Something seems to be different in the Networking. The Settings to access CIFS is allready set. If I Adresss a Subfolder with in the Novell Share itworks.Any Ideas?cyaAMG

Additional info I found out.
- Mapping a drive letter net use n: \\servername\share is successful- Opening this drive letter from explorer => n:\ is not accessible- Opening the drive letter via CMD => everything is fine, All folders are accessible- Other Filemanagers (even Firefox) can access the share, but not Explorer and InternetExplorer

It can be an authentication issue. I suggest that you change the NTLM authentication level to Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated. Please refer the following article.

Hello> Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated.
Already set, this is necessary to access Novel CIFS Shares.
And it does not explain the different behavior of explorer, the CMD and other file managers.Other ideas?cyaAMG

The default NTLM authentication level in Windows 7 is different with the level in Novell. All the network share access behaviors are caused by the mechanism of the NTLM authentication. When accessing shares with net use command, the different authentication level may be compatible. But it is not the situation when accessing via Windows Explorer.Arthur Xie - MSFT
