Periodically, Win7/64 SP1 shows a yellow exclamation point in its "PC Issues" icon, which, on mouseover, proclaims that there is "no network access!" There is network access. Everything on the network continues to work just fine. I can visit web sites,I can email, I can upload and download without any issues. The network troubleshooter cannot find any problems and ends up asking ME what problem I'm having? I'm having the problem that there's something whining about "no network access". How do I make this false complaint disappear?

Wow. I wouldn't *ever* recommend a solution like that, under any circumstances. It's basically, "paint over the trouble light, so you won't see it anymore". No, thanks. I don't know when "oh, just shut off the alarm permanently" got to be thought of as an acceptable answer, but it isn't. I need to know when there is real network trouble, so I need this indicator to work properly. Uninstalling and reinstalling the NIC makes it go away for a while, so I'll continue to do that rather than disable the warning.

Note that UI may give wrong results. To get right results, you have to use command prompt with commands. I saw multiple threads with the same issue. As you said there is no connectivity problem and also AFAIK Microsoft had released no hotfix for that. You can also try updating your NIC drivers.
