No Password Expiration Notification in Windows 7
Not sure if this is a bug in Windows 7 or what, but I'm not getting any notification that my password is expiring in 14 days when I logon to my Windows 7 machine, but I do when I log into my 2003 and 2008 servers. I first noticed this issue running the RC, but just assumed that it was a bug that would be fixed. Now I am running RTM and it still is not notifying me. I also just brought up a 2008 R2 server and it does not seem to be notifying me either. Is this a bug or something that was intentionally removed. Or am I the only one experiencing this? Thanks,Brian

Hello Brian, That policy can be pushed down via Group Policy on a system, are these computers members of a domain? Is the policy set to prompt at 14 days for your domain? I have mine prompt 5 days prior to expiration. If you go to gpedit.msc - Computer Configuration - Windows Settings - Security Settings - Local Policies - Security Options - "Interactive Logon: Prompt User...." you will see what your machines are configured for.-Tanner

Thanks Tanner! Previous versions of Windows seem to default to 14 days but Windows 7 seems to default to 5. That let me know what I needed. Thanks for the quick response!
