No mapping between account names and security IDs was done
I get this error when I try to look at the properties for scheduled tasks in XP Home. I recently reinstalled XP after I started getting blue screen errors during boot up. After installing XP and all high-priority updates (including Service Pack 3 which is advertised to correct this error), I restored the tasks directory from a backup and started getting "Could not start". I can delete and recreate the scheduled task, but I'm worried that the error may indicate some deeper problem that I have not seen. I have tried deleting and reinstalling SP3, but the problem still exists. Any suggestions? 1 person needs an answerI do too

I downloaded WindowsXP-KB890737-x86-ENU.exe hotfix, but it would not run because SP3 is already installed. Should I remove SP3, run this, and then reinstall SP3? Ken

Try another user name having more privilages to add computers to domain. That worked for me. If you have SP3 , no need of hot fix. Please comment!!!!

There is only one user account, plus Administrator. This is a home system. The one user is a Computer Administrator. Could this be caused by using a different Computer Name during the reinstallation of XP? I could not recall what I originally named the computer. The tasks directory was restored from a backup from before the reinstall and the user name is the same as before. I deleted and recreated all but one of the old tasks and they all work normally now; except for the one that I am keeping to see if I can fix this.
