No more rediculous security questions
This is more for archive and opinion than anything else. I have noticed that there are a lot less security questions (allow deny etc) in Windows 7, I like it. I believe I have ran into 2 or 3 so far, very happy. No more of them when trying to install games or applications (Do you want to install? No ____ sherlock I put the disk in didn't I?). Good work. Heya,Thank you for the positive feedback. Indeed, in Windows 7, UAC prompts have been reduced by 40% and windows components no longer ask for consent. Victor Constantinescu - MVP Security, MCTS

Pull the slider bar up on UAC on Windows 7. You will have a safer Operating system in the long run.

Well my problem with the UAC is that, just like in Vista, it is almost impossible to become the absolute administrator of my machine.Clearly the UAC is a lot more user friendly than it is in Vista, but, it still lacks the ability to recognize intermediate/power users as being able to look after themselves.I installed an incompatible program (for converting .flv files) and then uninstalled it. Went into my program files and, sure enough, found an empty folder for the uninstalled program. Tried to delete the folder and couldn't because now, after several days of being able to "act" like this machines administrator, Windows tells me I don't have the authority to delete the empty folder..?I try and keep absolute track of what is in my machine and why it's there. An empty folder may seem like nothing to a lot of people, but, to me (and obviously to Windows) it isn't.Susan makes a very good point; but, at least in my own case, I must respectfully disagree. texan4u
