Under the heading "recovering messages" I get messages all day long that shows the system(outlook express) keeps recovering data and I am not doing any recovering. I have carbonite for a recovery when needed but outlook express keeps recovering ALL DATA all day long, old folders, folder names, etc. I am looking for away to stop the recovering process in out look express which never stops. Thanks. David

Are you speaking of "Compacting"? OE recovers used space when it compacts, but there is no recovery process for messages.Bruce Hagen ~ MS-MVP [Mail]

Are you using Outlook Express in XP or Windows Mail in Vista? If its the latter, then run my Windows Mail Utility to repair the database (www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/). OE does NOT have any sort of recovery function, so no one understands what you mean by that. steve <DASTAR> wrote in message news:Email removed for privacy...Under the heading "recovering messages" I get messages all day long that shows the system(outlook express) keeps recovering data and I am not doing any recovering.
