Old laptop only has WEP in dropdown wifi options list, I need to get it using WPA2-PSK. How do I get it?
It's an old Toshiba Satellite Pro M10 laptop with an Intel PRO/wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI adapter (whatever that means!), I've done all the Windows updates but when I try and set up a wifi connection the only data encryption options in the drop down are "disabled" and "WEP".I've checked the Toshiba site and downloaded the newest wifi and internet updates, I even tried the Intel update site, but they don't have anything appropriate (something to do with Toshiba making changes to the drivers so Intel don't offer updates). It does connect to the internet without problems if I use a cable, but thats not really practical, wifi would be much better. Can anyone suggest something to make my laptop able to use/recognise WPA2-PSK?Many thanks1 person got this answerI do too

I've spoken to Toshiba, very nice chap called Daniel spent 30 minutes on the phone and found a very old and apparently obscure update for me to download. After that was done the laptop was able to connect to the WPA2-PSK router using WEP. Not too sure what the update did exactly but at least it'll now connect to modern wi-fi, even if it's only at 11 mbps. Apparently this is as much as the hardware can manage!
