Opening an application vs Opening a file
1. In my understanding there are two procedures, to run and edit. Association plays the role. 2. iTunes may cause problem. That is why I used RrealAlternative. I suggets to address support forum of iTune (and iCloud). 3. Reagional settings are responsible for correct "undestanding" of currency, number format etc 4. If you feel like that .NET play negative role, remove current installation with Aaron Stebner removal tool and instal fresh copy of .NET Framework Rgds Milos

Hi, If you suspect the issue is caused from an iTunes or iCloud, you can make a test by uninstalling these items. Also the issue seems be related to development issue, I would like suggest you post the issue to MSDN for further help.Spencer TechNet Community Support

What are the differences behind the scenes in Windows between opening an application and selecting a file to open with that app versus opening the file directly and letting windows open the default application? The reason I ask is that I've recently encountered an issue with French clients on French Windows 7 that use my company's software. The problem seems to have some relation to a recent installation of an iTunes or iCloud update (high correlation, but no direct causality determined at this point) The symptom is that in the columns used to accept numerical inputs, the app replaces the cents after the decimal with 00. Even odder is the fact that this only happens if the user opens the application first and then selects the file to open, but if they double-click directly on the file and let windows open the default software (our software), there's no issue. Also, I've attempted to change the Language format to French (Canada) several times, but it seems to have no impact. I suspect it may have something to do with .net framework 4.0 settings
