Outlook Back up utility for 2007 and Windows 7
I suggest that you confirm the back-up utility is compatible with Windows 7. The Microsoft back-up utility is not compatible with Windows 7. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=8b081f3a-b7d0-4b16-b8af-5a6322f4fd01&displaylang=en However, this forum found a workaround-check out this thread: http://www.sevenforums.com/microsoft-office/57245-microsoft-outlook-2007-backup-tool.html You can also back-up to a network drive with the Windows back-up included with the professional version. It can be configured to selectively back-up data.

I just installed Windows 7 Professional and Microsoft Office 2007. I just added the backup utility for .pst. when the user tries to run the backup to place the files on the network, it will fail. The users .pst files are really big close to 2G a piece. Is there a size limit for this add-in and windows 7? there was never an issue while running this in Windows XP

i know the outlook backup utility works because i just moved a file but can you tell me the max size it should be to copy over the network. Because when we copy the file it will fail half way through and the .pst file is almost 2G.

Hi Amy, there are also some Backuptools for Outlook available where you have a lot of opportunities for your backup. For example Lookeen Backup Manager: -Backup different profiles/folders/pst's -Backup your settings ect. I think with that tool it won't be a problem to backup big pst-files, too.
