Outlook Express 6-picture insert fail.
When I am composing new or reply emails in OE6 (XP Pro-sp2) I often use the picture insert function (Insert>Picture>Browse) and have never had a problem in the past.In the last few days when I use the picture insert menu to browse to the image source folder, recently added downloaded images do not show up amongst the older ones. The images are there in Windows Explorer and can be opened with a viewer, but they are invisible to the OE6 picture insert function even after program restarts and PC reboots. Thanks in advance for any guidance or assistance.Ole TJS. 1 person needs an answerI do too

I'm not sure if this is an OE or OS issue. What folder are these pictures located in?Are you sure you are looking in the correct folder? I ask because there is a possibility that your older pix are in two folders and the new pix only in one.If you go to one of these new pix and right click on it, can you Send To | Mail Recipient? And does that work? (Yes, it will be an attachment).Support for XP/SP2 ended last July. Any reason you have not installed SP3 which will be supported until April, 2014? It may make a difference.Bruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA

You're very welcome. I have a lot of CRs, [canned replies], that I often use. It keeps me out of trouble during my CRS, [can't remember s*#t] moments. If you rather use another browser than IE, that's fine. I don't understand your reasoning behind not wanting to update to SP3, being it is much more secure. Although a reinstall may be needed for a variety of reasons, I don't understand planning on doing it every 2 years.Whatever floats your boat though. Glad you got the insert picture issue resolved.Bruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA
