Starting over, new to this. This is the complete error message. Occurred also with an email I tried to send. A TCP/IP error occurred while trying to connect to the server. Account: 'austin.rr.com', Server: 'pop-server.austin.rr.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC15. Have Outlook Express 6 for long time. Just happened on 11/10 PM after working fine in AM on same day.

This is the error message when I set up the new identity: The host 'smtp.austin.rr.com' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'SBC Yahoo! Mail-j.patton16', Server: 'smtp.austin.rr.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11004, Error Number: 0x800CCC0DRe: How to Reset the IP Stack. Followed those instructions on 11/12, but sending and receiving email on Outlook Express didn't work with my old identity. After I tried that, I just set up the new identity today 11/13, sent myself an email, and the above error number occurred.

And what is this SBC about? Are you trying to use a Yahoo account?Bruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA

I'll check the settings. The roadrunner settings were totally correct under my old identity. I checked this many times. Now, when I used the email server set-up wizard under the new identity, it came up that my old ATT server was found, not the roadrunner. So, I cancelled what they had and inputted my email address (on the wizard window) as my server, along with the password that I use for roadrunner.Yahoo has a bad problem that everyone complains about. They will not let one change their email address without losing all the content one might have on Yahoo. Even though I have cancelled my service with ATT, that email address still is shown on Yahoo. So, I'll go back and look again under the old identity. Later...... Sandandsea

I have now changed the Outlook Express to the old identity and then checked the settings on the old identity. They are correct. I will leave the Outlook Express in the old identity from now on while seeking answers to this problem. Thanks, Sandandsea

OK. But the reason I asked was because the very first error message you posted did have the word server in the settings.A TCP/IP error occurred while trying to connect to the server. Thanks for your patience. Will work more on this tomorrow. May have to remove Outlook Express and reinstall, but must save the address book if possible. Also will double check I have set the connection info correctly. Since it has worked properly for 3+ years, it seems something must have corrupted it.
