Outlook Express jpg attachments.
Outlook Express will send jpg attachments, but the receiver cannot see them and there is not indication that there is an attachment. How do I reinstall Outlook Express, or is there a setting in IE8.0 that I must change?Monyocky

How do I reinstall Outlook Express, or is there a setting in IE8.0 that I must change?IE8 has no connection with OE6 in this regard. How are you attaching the jpg files? If you send one to yourself, do you see it? Does it show in Sent Items? OE questions should be asked here in the future.XP - Networking, Mail And Getting Online Forumhttp://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/xpnetwork/threadsBruce HagenMS-MVP Oct. 1, 2004 ~ Sept. 30, 2010Imperial Beach, CA

I'm attaching the jpg file in outlook express by clicking on "attachment" and clicking on the attachment from my computer. When I send it to myself in Outlook Express, I can see the jpg and it shows in the sent items. When I go to the email provider server online, I can send jpg's and the recipient can see them. But when I send jpg's attached to email to others through Outlook Express, they can't see them.Monyocky

Make sure Send pictures with messages is checked. If it is, and if you can send it to yourself and it appears in Sent Items, then the problem is not on your end.Have you tried this with a few recipients? Something must be stripping the attachment off their mail. Do they see the encoding in the message source? I would suggest that you make sure you are not scanning e-mail, but other than that, nothing appears to be wrong with what you're doing.Turn off e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that eats up CPUs, slows down sending and receiving, and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for loss of messages. Your up-to-date A/V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more, see:http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 Why you don't need your anti-virus to scan your emailhttp://thundercloud.net/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htmNote that for many AV programs, it may be necessary to uninstall the program and reinstall in Custom Mode and uncheck e-mail scanning when the option is offered.
