Outlook express send error 10060 from smtp.live.com
My outlook express cannot send emails. It was working fine, got flakey a few days ago and now it never works. I have a 2nd computer with the same problem. I get: "The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'Msn', Server: 'smtp.live.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E". Other forum answers are telling me port 25 is blocked or the server is wrong. My Isp provider is Msn and they wouldn't help me.1 person needs an answerI do too

You don't usually use SSL on port 25. SSL is used with port 587. See this: Send and Receive Windows Live Hotmail emails from a Mail Client.Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook]------------------------------If a reply helps, please vote it as helpful. If a reply solves the issue, please mark it as an answer.

I had the same problem since Aug 30th at 12:36 PM. Had same error message but with Error: 10013.I change from port 25 to port 587 and I am now able to send e-mails again.Note that port 25 has worked since Jan 2007 when the "Live" was introduced. Has MSN changed anything? In this case they should inform all users having MSN Dialup Service.Best regardsAnders
