Overwrite DB files in Program Files Sub Directory
I am trying to manually copy a database file either .MDB or .DBS in a sub directory of the program files directory. It asks if I want to overwrite file I click yes, it acts like it is overwriting the file but when I open the database, the old data and database strucure is there. Is this a known issue and is there a work around ? Chuck

Hi, Before moving on, I would like to confirm if only database file encounters this type issue. If so, the issue should be more related to Database Software. If you were using Microsoft Access database, please post your question here. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/category/officeitproKim Zhou TechNet Community Support

I have tried this with an access.mdb file and with a SQLBASE.DBS file. I can delete the database copy a new one in the directory and the old file is still what is displayed. If there is a database file in the directory and I copy a new one in, I will be prompted to overwrite the file and I click yes, overwrite file, it goes through the process of overwriting the file but the old database is still what gets displayed. I do not have this problem with any other type file.Charles Hayes
