PC Starts up with windows xp, but just as it begins to boot up it will switch off and then re-start, this just happens over and over without booting up properly.
My pc has fallen ill, and I cannot understand why, it first fell unwell and began to take forever booting up. But now it welcomes me to Microsoft XP then tries to boot up but suddenly shuts down and restarts, this ground hog process then continues to repeat its self on into the forseable future. That is unless there's a specialist person out there somewhere who has a cure for this crippling illness.1 person needs an answerI do too

Hi Homer Dee Jay, You may follow the steps below and check if it helps.Step 1 Disconnect any external devices that are connected to the computer and try to boot to the desktop and check if it helps . Step 2 You may try to boot the computer in safe mode and check if you can boot to the desktop. To boot to the desktop in safe mode keep tapping F8 key during restart. Once you see the option to boot in safe mode select it and press enter. Step 3 Try booting into “Last Known Good Configuration” mode and check if you’re able to boot to the desktop. To boot to the desktop inLast Known Good Configuration keep tapping F8 key during restart. Once you see the option to boot in Last Known Good Configuration and press enter. Chck if you can access the desktop Step 4 If you are unable to boot to the desktop in safe mode, you may Disable automatic restart on system failure and make a note of the error message and post it back. The Advanced Boot Options screen lets you start Windows in advanced troubleshooting modes. You can access the menu by turning on your computer and pressing the F8 key before Windows starts. This prevents Windows from automatically restarting if an error causes Windows to fail. Choose this option only if Windows is stuck in a loop where Windows fails, attempts to restart, and fails again repeatedly. Once you’ve disabled automatic restart, you would be able to view the exact error message. Make a note of it and let us know the exact error message. Hope this helps. Let us know the result.
