I have a confusing situation -- I run four PC's on a home network (Linksys router)...two XP Pro, two Vista Home Premium...one of the XP PC's has a strange habit...when it first boots, it shows on the other PC's network list of computers, but after a few minutes, it disappears. It CAN be located via "search for computers" in the network places, so it definitely is still connected. Can anyone possibly shed some light on what would cause this sort of behavior? It occurs even when I turn off my firewall (ZoneAlarm), and the Windows firewall is always off. Thanks for any help on this...if other background details would be helpful, please let me know.
