PDF printing and Windows 7
I am getting garbled print when printing from Acrobat 9 Standard on Windows 7, even though the page looks fine on the screen. My other programs print fine, but Adobe is printing almost as if the computer is low on memory, even though I have plenty of RAM (2 GB) and Adobe is the only program running. I am using a Brother HL-1440 and didn't have any problems on XP or Vista with printing. I also ran Windows Update and saw there were updated drivers for the Brother HL-1440, which I installed. Unfortunately it did not help. Any advice is much appreciated!

Do you get Adobe Acrobat9.2? ADOBE READER AND ACROBAT 9.2 RELEASE NOTES Important Note: Microsoft provides third-party contact information to help you find technical support. If the issue occurs with Acrobat 9.2, I suggest that you try to run Adobe Acrobat with administrator privilege and check the result.Arthur Xie - MSFT

Yes, I have Adobe Standard 9.2 installed. Tried a few other things with no success (and the same garbled text result):1. Checked for Adobe Updates (there are none).2. Tried the Repair Adobe Installation 3. Ran Adobe as Administrator. Perhaps I need to uninstall and reinstall the program? It seems to be choking on fonts especially.... Again, the screen looks good -- it's only printing that is coming out badly.Gil

Okay, the problem was definitely the printer driver. I went out and found the older Windows Vista Driver for the Brother HL-1440 and installed (even though unsigned). This fixed the issue.Gil
