Password Protected Sharing / Sharing Encryption
I'd like to know what authentication method Windows uses for Password Protected Sharing (e.g. open-text, Diffie-Hellman etc.) and how does it encrypt the transfered data (AES, RSA etc.).Thank you.

Hi, Based on my research, I would like to answer you that the system use Kerberos authentication for network sharing and Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) to encrypt the data. For more information, please refer to the following article: Kerberos Enhancements Thanks, Novak

I've just read the article. Kerberos is designed for a client/server architecture, and it requires a central server. What I asked for is the authentication and encryption used when e.g. two computers are networked in a home network via a router. It says it's a 128-bit encryption, but I don't know which cryptographic algorithm is used, and (even more importantly) the key exchange method. If someone does know this, please reply.Thank you.
