after i joined a domain, i noticed that password protected sharing is missing. is it something wrong in me, or it is something in domain. looking for a quick reply. thanks

Password protected sharing is only available when the client is in a workgroup.
The reason for this I don't know, but I guess it's because when you are joined to a domain, the "security check" is done when you log on to the client with an AD-account.

Instead, set the permissions on the share so that the domain account has read or read/write access.
