Password Reminder in Windows 7
Just curious why on God's green earth anybody thought it would be a good idea to remove the password expiration reminder prompt from Windows Vista/7. This new feature with a balloon notification in the system tray is stupid to say the least. The average user rarely pays attention to the system tray notifications when they are logging in for the morning. In the past I reset about 1 password every 2 months, now with windows 7 on 20 of 120 workstations, I am resetting about 15 passwords a month(all W7 users). The only W7 users I never have to reset are people who set calendar reminders after I informed them of the system tray balloon. Now I have to look to an external solution(logon script or a scheduled email script), whereas Windows XP already had the needed functionality built-in. I love Windows 7, but MS needs to add the dialog box back to the new versions of Windows. Zak
