People I manage Call for

When we enabled the Lync communicator clients, there was one person who shows in my "The People I manage calls for".  We do not have the call part enabled and I did not set this up.  How do I remove this setting from their profile?

Dear,

Do you mean that there is a person shows in your group and the group named "The People I manage calls for"?

If this is not a group where does it show you this information and how about other colleagues?

We really need more information to help you.

Thanks.

I am having the same issue with a few of our users.  So if "User A" has delgate access of "User B"  "User B" will be populated in contacts under a group labeled  "The People I manage calls for"  You cannot delete the user, you can only move them to another group.

I would like to know how to remove them as well for 2 reasons:  A) we dont use voice and B) just because "A" has delgate access of "B", doesnt mean they should be required to be on their contact list.

(PS I have disabled delegate in both the voice policy and the client policy)

(PSS sorry for stepping in on your post Rj)

I have the same situation and am wondering if there's a way to have the "People I Manage Calls For" group not be generated automatically.

As you can see from the othe rposts, I am not alone on this.  When we installed the Lync Client, the first time I opened and logged in  I saw a Group Name " People I manage Calls For"  I did not create the group and I can not remove it.  There is a single individual in the group and yes they also show in my main AD pulled in group.

How can I clear the entry and or remove the group or how do I remove the setting that pulls that ID in to the group?

I think this has resolved it:  In Lync Management Shell run set-csvoicepolicy -enableDelegation $false  and set-csclientpolicy -EnableExchangeDelegateSync $false

I ran this several days ago and the users failed to call me to tell me the problem was resolved.  Let me know if it resolves it for you...you will need to exit lync (wait a sec) and go back in for the policy to take affect.

Let me know how this works for ya

Just to follow up I have checked with all my users and after doing this, they have confirmed that they no longer see this.

I am going to play in the lab to try and replicate this too

Not sure if it makes a difference with points/status  but could you apply the "answered" to my post opposed to yours...

This group is set up when a user of Outlook adds another user as a Delegate in Outlook.

Outlook 2007: Tools-> Options…-> tab Delegates
Outlook 2010: File-> button Account Settings-> Delegate Access

However, the group does not go away when the user is removed from the Outlook delegates and the Lync user cannot remover contacts from the "People I Manage Calls for" group. It seems that you are stuck with this folder if someone adds you as an Outlook delegate.

My testing of the command below revealed that it does not remove the "People I Manage Calls for" group, but it does stop users being added as delegates when another user adds them as a delegate within Outlook.

set-csclientpolicy -EnableExchangeDelegateSync $false

So you can be added as a delelegate without your permission and you cannot remove yourself from that role. You have to ask the person who added you to delete your name from their Lync "Delegates" group, which removes their name from your "People I Manage Calls for" group.

I am having this issue as well with a few users.  I have 1500 enterprise voice Lync users.  I am aware of three users with this issue.

I have confimed that my end users do not have any delegates in outlook or Lync.  They also state that they have not added anyone as a delgate at any time. My problem users still show the "People I manage calls for" group in Lync.

A much problemo for me is this has now affected a VP.  Its kind of funny when a regular corporate Joe has a VP as a delgate. (funny to me)

from post above: John Auld -----------------

So you can be added as a delelegate without your permission and you cannot remove yourself from that role. You have to ask the person who added you to delete your name from their Lync "Delegates" group, which removes their name from your "People I Manage Calls for" group.

The above doesnt work if a user has not added you as a delegate..

If anyone has an idea for me before I figure this out it will be appreciated.  Otherwise when I get it, I will post the solution.

Slainte agus tainte

Trying the following:

SEFAUtil.exe /server: lyncserver.contoso.com sip:katarina@contoso.com /removedelegate:joe@contoso.com
