Persistent shutdown/reboot of 7 (64 bit)
For the last few days, I have been experiencing BSODs and random shutdown/restarts of my system. Initially, the error was simply "memory management"; so I broke the system open, cleaned it thoroughly, pulled and tested through each stick of memory, and upped the voltage a bit (Corsair; went from 1.5 to 1.6). When this didn't help, I reset the voltage and updated the video driver (ATI) to the latest release (12.13.2010). This seems to have improved things slightly.... now the error has changed and I'm getting a memory management error for raspppoe.sys and ntskrnl.exe. Small dump: ================================================== Dump File : 010511-25381-01.dmp Crash Time : 1/5/2011 2:02:15 PM Bug Check String : MEMORY_MANAGEMENT Bug Check Code : 0x0000001a Parameter 1 : 00000000`00041790 Parameter 2 : fffffa80`005c6190 Parameter 3 : 00000000`0000ffff Parameter 4 : 00000000`00000000 Caused By Driver : raspppoe.sys Caused By Address : raspppoe.sys+fc106190 File Description : Product Name : Company : File Version : Processor : x64 Computer Name : Full Path : C:\Windows\Minidump\010511-25381-01.dmp Processors Count : 4 Major Version : 15 Minor Version : 7600 Dump File Size : 285,142 ================================================== I am having trouble whenever I attempt to browse sites using Flash, Shockwave, and Quicktime, or when I attempt to play World of Warcraft. Other notable crashes have occurred when accessing my online college portal (which uses Flash) and on occasion accessing Gmail. I am at my wit's end. I have assignments due tonight and I cannot effectively browse or interact with any site presenting multimedia content. I've uninstalled ALL my browsers, tried using IE both 32 and 64 bit, rechecked all my memory (still showing good), and at this point, am just... stumped. The thing that is bugging me most is that this began "out of nowhere". I've made no changes to my system AT ALL until trying to troubleshoot this. At this point, I'm desperate. ANY help would be deeply appreciated.

MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (1a) # Any other values for parameter 1 must be individually examined. Arguments: Arg1: 00041790 , The subtype of the bugcheck. The 41790 code is part of our an internal memory manager code but the bugcheck in my experience has almost always indicated hardware issues (RAM errors). Please download memtest86+ [1], burn a new bootable CD (use a CD-RW if possible) from the ISO (download and use ImgBurn [2] to do this or make double click on the ISO in Windows 7), reboot your PC and scan your RAM 4-5hours for errors. If it detects errors, replace the faulty RAM.
