Please Help me Turn Lync Off so it doesn't come up when I log in.
Hi,
I'm new at a company which has office 365 but isn't using Lync. I was curious about what it's function is so I clicked on it in order to read about it. As far as I recall I didn't make a selection for it to launch but everytime I log in, it launches and
it won't just exit the program if I hit the red "X." I would like to get this "automatic launch" to stop and I can find nothing in documentation to make this happen.
Please advise.

In the Lync client, click the little gear icon and navigate to Tools->Options->Personal. Uncheck the Automatically start Lync when I log into Windows box.

Lync automatically sets itself to start up once you open it for the first time. (it creates a reg key).
Anthony's solution will sort you out.

Hi Deb-E-B,
As Georg mentioned, it created a reg key.
To delete the reg key:
1. Navigate to
HKCU\Software\Microsft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
2. Delete "Lync"
