We are having a Polycom group series 500 device and currently facing the below mentioned issue, if any one has used this device appreciate your response on this matter.

1. we have already activated the Multipoint video conferencing and Lync interoperability protocol on the device. We are able to get only a peer to peer Lync video call, Lync video conference is not allowed (we cannot add another Lync user to an ongoing Lync call)

2. 

.       This device can join to a Lync video conference hosted by another user, but video and voice not working (it shows that device has joined the conference but no audio or video)

What happens if from Desktop client you invite the 500 to peer to peer Audio Video ...does that work?

What from Desktop client you invite the 500 to invite 500 to audio video conference what error do see in the desktop client?

Not sure about all of your issues - but Multipoint video conferencing only works for Polycom to Polycom devices and has nothing to do with Lync.  We have the same devices and can do Lync video conferences with multiple users, as well as Lync video calls.  But you can't share content from a Lync User to a Polycom device as Lync uses RDP protocol for content sharing, and Polycom doesn't support this - at the moment and is on their 'roadmap'.

You can see on the Polycom Real Group 500 Admin console the configuration and ensure that the SIP configuration is working correctly.

Jeff Schertz may chime in if he sees this, but if we're talking VVX500 devices I'll add that it's not supported with Lync 2013.  You posted in a Lync 2010 forum, but I wanted to mention this in case you're running Lync 2013.  VVX to VVX video calls may still work in a 2013 environment, but as soon as that call hits a full Lync client or server (and it will as soon as it's a full conference) you may see trouble.

Note: The support for Lync video calls with UC Software 5.0.0 is limited to the following scenarios when using Lync 2010:

1. In Lync 2010 environment Point-to-Point video calls between VVX 500/600 IP phone and another VVX 500/600 phone is supported.
2. Point-to-Point video calls between VVX 500/600 and Lync Client 2010 are supported.
   
   
3. Video Call transfers and Call forward from Lync Client party to another user with VVX 500/600 or vice-versa are supported.
4. Video sessions between a registered remote user and a video capable in-premise enterprise user (VVX 500/600 or Lync Client) are supported.
5. Video call sessions between federated users with endpoints as VVX 500/600 or Lync Client are supported.
6. Video calls in Lync 2013 environment are not supported due to lack of support to H.264 or RTV in UCS 5.0.0.

Make sure you are running the latest version of firmware before spending any more time troubleshooting, that's rule #1 :)

Secondly the MCU license is only for non-Lync participants in which the group can act as its own MCU.  When registered to Lync and using the Lync Interoperability License all multiparty calls will be escalated up to the Lync Server AVMCU.

If these calls are failing to connect them please contact your Polycom support channel for further assistance.

The two scenarios (desktop to polycom and polycom to desktop)that you have mentioned is working.

If we connect to a conference from group series 500 we can join but there is no audio or video. Lync users can also see the group series 500 user is connected but unable to hear and video also not available.

Lync server version - 2013

Firmware Version is 4.1.3.2-20000

Please let me know how can I upload the log file.

That is odd based on your original description that peer calls worked but conference calls did not.  The AES Encryption setting impacts whether or not SRTP is used to encrypt the media payload of the call.  The way that Lync operates is that a single parameter controls this for both peer Lync calls as well as client-to-server conference calls form Lync.

By default Lync requires full end-to-end encryption on all calls but this can often be chance to 'optional' by the Lync administrator.

Normally when there is a media encryption mismatch then no video can be established between the video system and a Lync client in any call scenario.

I know this is an old thread I'm reviving here but can I ask where you found out the information regarding sharing content? I've been struggling with this for a little while now myself. What I actually want to achieve is sharing content from Polycom Group series 500 to Lync, and I can get the group series to send the content but the recipient sees it with the left and right edges cut of almost like its taking the 16:9 image and cutting it to 4:3 without scaling it. Any advice at all would be really appreciated :)
