Prevent Resetting Settings of Microsoft Loopback Adapter Automatically
Hello, I have installed Windows 7 x64 ultimate on my system. My USB ADSL Modem has not a driver for windows 7. So I forced to install virtual pc and Microsoft loopback adapter on my windows 7 in order to be able to browse internet on My Windows 7 through Virtual PC. But there is a problem. Everytime I restart my computer, the settings of Microsoft Loopback Adapter reset to default values. I should run Microsoft Network Troubleshooter everytime in order to do the following works for me : - Enable DHCP for loopback adapter - Assing a valid IP address to loopback adapter How can I save the settings for ever ? Hi, I installed a Microsoft Loopback Adapter on my Windows 7 test machine, configure this NIC as you described and reboot the computer; however, this issue didn’t occurred here. At this time, please try the following: 1. Ensure you are using an Administrator account. 2. Remove Microsoft Loopback Adapter and reinstall referring to the following method: Adding The MS Loopback Adapter on Windows 7 Hope this helps. Thanks. Nicholas Li - MSFT
