Prevent standard users from creating scheduled task in Windows 7
Hi,
in Windows XP and earlier Versions there was a GPO Setting to restrict users from creating Taks under:
Computer Configuration> Administrative Templates> Windows Components> Task Scheduler
How can I accomplish this with Windows 7?
It should still be possible to schedule tasks for privileged Accounts.
best regards

Hi,
I can give you a workround to restrict standard user. You may utilize App locker to prevent task sheduler console from running.Juke Chou

It should include the creation of tasks through other programs.
E.g. Google Earth installer creates an auto update task with user credentials.

Hi,
If you want do this, I am afraid it cannot be acheived. Because it will call Windows function to create Tasks. For workaround, you may use strict policy to prevent user to run any installation by App locker. Actually, some apps will create global tasks,
this needs administrative priviledge. For most cases, you have no need to worry about it.

there seems to be no GPO-way to do this.
removing permissions
'icacls c:\windows\system32\Tasks /remove *S-1-5-11'
is what works for me.
