Is the printer connecting to the XP desktop, or is a network printer (with IP address)? What is the printer model? Is there any firewall between the Vista and machine sharing the printer? If so, please ensure that you have set exceptions forprinter sharingon the firewall. Have you tried to add this printer by clicking the option The printer that I want isnt listed and type the shared printer path directly such as \\<IP address>\<shared printer name>? Are you available to determine: 1. How things are going when connect the laptop to the network with a wired cable. 2. Howthings are going when physically connect the printer to the Vista laptop. Additionally, in order to further analyze the issue, would you show me error message you meet when you attempt to add the network printer on Vista?
