I am not sure what "access this XP PC on Windows 7" means. If the printer is configured for sharing on the XP computer, use the add a printer wizard in Windows 7. Start=>Devices and Printers=>add a printer=>select adda network, wireless or blutooth printer and follow the wizard.

I am not sure what "access this XP PC on Windows 7" means. Great post then. Are you at all familiar with desktop personal computing technology? I have had this issue when no default driver from Win7 can be found. Even after installing the correct driver, Win7 will simply refuse to connect to a remote printer unless it has its own driver. Strangely enough Nano, you get the exact same result if you try to perform the same action with different clicks. Congratulations on typing 'windows 7 network printer' into Bing though - you're on track to becoming a top-tier MS support engineer. In my case the printer was a Zebra label printer, and the only way I've been able to force this to work is to clone the install that had the printer connected (locally) and then connect the printer remotely. This still leaves you with the bodgy Win7 driver which doesn't include half the settings you need. Fortunately for me I was able to draw the line there. Sorry I couldn't be more help Shabbir, I just couldn't leave you at the mercy of someone who clearly doesn't actually use Windows for networking.Just trying to get value-for-money for the $20,000 worth of your products I support...

Hi, This error could have something to do with your driver installed on the Windows 7 machine. I suggest you perform the following steps on Windows 7 to troubleshoot the issue: 1. Click “Start”, “Devices and Printers”. 2. Click “Add a printer”. 3. Choose “Add a local printer” and click on “Create a new port”. 4. Select “Local Port” and click “Next”. 5. Type in "[\\computer name\printer name]" (without quotation marks) for the Port Name and click “OK”. Example: If the computer you wish to connect to is named ComputerA and the printer is called PrinterA then the path would be \\ComputerA\PrinterA 6. Please select a correct driver from the list. If the model is not listed, please click the “Windows Update” button. Wait for the process finishes and try to find the driver again. Best Regards,Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Sorry I couldn't be more help Shabbir, So, Freqy, what's the point of your post? I don't think Shabbir is interested in your problems. Was it to advise us that you don't understand that a client needs drivers for a device regardless of it's connection? Was it to point out that you didn't visit Zebra support and find the Windows 7 drivers for your device prior to attempting to connect it? You could have provided the next step, as Magon Liu has, to try if the wizard does not work, which is to add it on a local port. Try and be more helpful and write your steps for a possible resolution clearly.

So, Freqy, what's the point of your post? Well, for starters, to provide more information than simply demonstrating an unfamiliarity with printer sharing. Secondly, to advise Shabbir that this is a known an unfixed issue with MS, which means in general that it will remain known and unfixed. Was it to advise us that you don't understand that a client needs drivers for a device regardless of it's connection? Again your lack of familiarity with something you are trying to give an answer on is astounding. Please look into sharing printer drivers and installing drivers for different OS versions on your PC. Was it to point out that you didn't visit Zebra support and find the Windows 7 drivers for your device prior to attempting to connect it? And now you simply aren't reading - yes the Zebra drivers were tried to no avail. You could have provided the next step, as Magon Liu has, to try if the wizard does not work, which is to add it on a local port. Precisely the solution I outlined... Try and be more helpful and write your steps for a possible resolution clearly. How about you just get off the forums and go back to annoying people on Facebook, kid?Just trying to get value-for-money for the $20,000 worth of your products I support...
