Printer sharing from Windows 7 to Windows XP computer
I have recently upgraded my main computer to Windows 7 (64-bit) which I love by the way :-) I have 3 other computers in the house, all of the running Windows XP SP3. The problem I have now is that since Windows 7 is now acting as the print server, none of the Windows XP machines seem to be able to print to my printer (Canon i850). I think the issue is that I need to install the x86 drivers on the Windows 7 machine in order for it to allow the XP machines to print to it, but Windows 7 won't let me install those drivers because it's a 64-bit OS. Has anyone else had any luck in printing from a Windows XP computer to a printer that is attached to a Windows 7 machine?Thanks!1 person needs an answerI do too

You need the 64-bit drivers installed on the Win7 machine, not 32-bit drivers.Canon i850 Drivershttp://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=331&modelid=8047Your best help, if more it needed, would be in the Hardware & Drivers forums.Bruce Hagen ~ MS-MVP [Mail]

Thanks Bruce, I'll move it over there - but just to respond to your message, I think you misinterpreted the problem. The Windows 7 machine can print to the printer without any problems, using the 64-bit print drivers. The problem is that the XP machines in my workgroup cannot - and since they are 32-bit systems, they can't use the 64-bit drivers that the Windows 7 machine has installed (unless I'm missing something). But, I will move over to Hardware and Drivers. Thanks!
