Problem at Startup
Recently, the Dell Inspiron B120 laptop that I have has been shutting down through blue screening, and it hadn't been a problem. But now, when I turn my computer on, and it has me go through choosing Safe Mode, or Start Windows normally, it blue screens with anything I try. An error for STOP: 0x0000007B comes up, and everything I've seen has said "check for viruses" and other things. But I can't get to my desktop to even check for viruses. I can't get to ANYTHING. A little help? :(1 person needs an answerI do too

Here is what Microsoft has to say about the error:INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE Just as the name implies, this error indicates that Windows NT is having trouble reading from the hard disk. This error can be caused by a faulty device driver or a bad small computer systems interface (SCSI) terminator. If you've checked for these problems, but are still receiving the error, check to make sure that a virus hasn't destroyed your boot sector. "Check for viruses" often means the author of the advice has no idea what the problem is or how to fix it. I would also be wary of any advice that begins with the words, try, maybe, might be, could be! You don't need to try things, you need to do things. To get started, you need to first verify the integrity of your file system. If you have been using the power button or pulling the plug to get going agin, your file system may be corrupted. It is pointless to try to do anything on a system with a corrupted file system, so you need to verify that first. It would not be a bad exercise to also verify the mechanical part of the inside cabling of your system (if you can get into it). One at a time, just remove and replace the cables from each hard disk, CD/VD drive etc. Just do them one at a time so you don't get mixed up. Remove and replace them at the motherboard connections too. This will make sure that you don't have a loose or marginal connection to and from your hard disk. You must boot on something and if you do not have a genuine bootbale XP installation disk to run Recovery Console, make a cootable Recovery Console CD as follows: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic276527.htmlFor each of your hard disks, you should then run:chkdsk /rFor example, from the Recovery Console prompt, enter:chkdsk c: /r Let chkdsk finish and correct any problems it might find. It may take a long time to complete or appear to be 'stuck'. Be patient. If the HDD light is still flashing, it is doing something. Keep an eye on the percentage amount to be sure it is still making progress. It may appear to go backwards sometimes. When chkdsk /r is complete, run it again to be sure it is clean. Remove the CD and type 'exit' to leave the RC and restart the computer. The system may be fine now for additional troubleshooting if needed. If your system does not boot on the HDD, boot again into Recovery Console, make sure chkdsk /r runs cleanly and report back with your results so far, new information and for more help.
