Problem mapping drive in Vista to a network access storage device
Need some help mapping foldersto a NAS device. I use a linksys router as the DHCP server. I have 3 computers, a network printer, and a maxtor central axis (NAS).after I installed the NAS, went to all the computers and mapped a drive letter to the predefined folder Public on the NAS. No problem all three computer can access the folder at the same time. The problem occurs when I create a new folder on the NAS and restrict access to 2 of the 3 users I setup on the NAS. So I go to computer 1 and map a second drive letter to the new folder. No Problem. I go to computer 2 and try an map the drive and then I get the error: The network folder specified is currently mapped using a different user name and password. OR An error occurred while reconnecting J: to \\HOMESERVER\AndrewMicrosoft Windows Network: Multiple connections to a server or shared resource by the same user, using more than one user name, are not allowed. Disconnect allprevious connections to the server or shared resource and try again. And there you have it. That's the problem. And yes, when i map to the restricted access drive, i do get a logon screen and i am not puting the same user twice.Any help pls.
