Problem with saving remote desktop credentials

Greetings,

I'm in an environment where I need to save credentials for a remote desktop connection into a non-domain-joined server.  The client from which I'm connecting is Windows 8.1 Pro that's domain joined.  The server to which I'm connecting is not running RDS, rather I've simply enabled remote desktop via the server manager.

I would attach a picture of the error that I can reproduce in a test environment; however, apparently my account isn't verified.  Below is the text of the error:

Your credentials did not work

Your system administrator does not allow the use of saved credentials to log on to the remote computer [computerName] because its identity is not fully verified.  Please enter new credentials

If enter the same credentials that I had attempted to save, there is no problem (yet I have to reenter credentials each time I use RDC).  I have followed the suggestions about allowing delegated saved credentials from NTLM as described in this link, http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11847805/windows-7-remote-desktop-connection-save-credentials-not-working, but this problem persists.

Has anyone else experienced this problem with the Windows 8.1 RDC client?
