Problems after installing Windows 7
I recently wiped my computer and installed Windows 7 (I had Vista before). Now my speakers don't work, but headphones do. I've tried everything with the audio settings, so it's not something trivial like that. Also, my C drive is now
about 93% full, but it wasn't even half full before I installed Windows 7. Anyone know what the problem is?

Hi
Despite a lot of similarities, Windows 7 may need newer hardware drivers than what Vista required. Check with the manufacturer of the device or the computer manufacturer for the latest, compatible drivers.
For the disk space problem, when you perform a Custom (clean) install of Windows 7 and format the drive as part of the installation process, the previous installation is saved in a folder called Windows.old.
If the Vista install was large, this folder can consume a lot of disk space. If you are sure that you do not need any files in this folder from the previous installation, you can use the Disk Cleanup utility to remove the folder.
1. Click
Start, type disk cleanup in the
Start Search text box, and then click
Disk Cleanup.
2. In the
Disk Cleanup Options dialog box, select the drive where Windows 7 is installed and click OK.
3. Click the
Clean up System Files Button. Click
OK on the UAC prompt and
OK to scan the drive again.
4. Click to select the
Previous Windows installation check box, and then click
OK.
Thank You for using Windows 7
