Problems printing with Windows 7 using Remote Desktop session
My question: I have a customer that I installed a new Windows 7 Professional (32 bit) laptop into their organization. This Windows 7 laptop is located in a remote office. The Windows 7 laptop connects through the Internet to a Microsoft Windows 2003 Standard edition server (using Remote Desktop). They have 4 other computers all using Windows XP and remote desktop doing the exact same functions. On the Windows 7 computer, I installed 2 printers: HP Laserjet P2015 (IP:192.168.0.16) and HP OfficeJet L7590 (IP:192.168.0.17). Both of these printers are located at the Remote office with the Windows 7 laptop and are connected to the LAN with the above IP addresses. All computers (Windows 7 & Windows XP) print to these printers locally without any problems. All of the Windows XP computers print to these two printers from their Remote desktop sessions without any problems. However, the Windows 7 remote desktop session will only see the HP OfficeJet L7590. It will not see the HP LaserJet P2015 as the other computers do. Problem 1: How do I get the HP LaserJet P2015 printer to show up in the Windows 7 remote desktop session? Problem 2: Some reports that they print from the Windows 7 remote desktop session (using Peachtree Accounting 2011) to the HP OfficeJet L7590 come out as blank pages. However, there are some items (such as Payroll checks out of Peachtree Accounting 2011). There is a second remote desktop (FRS) that also prints some reports and not others. Any ideas? Thanks, Daniel

How does it work if you set that printer as default printer? You may download the latest driver and install the printer with that driver. Sorry for the delayed response. It has taken me a while to get back to this remote office. I've tried setting the HP LaserJet P2015 as the default printer on the Windows 7 computer before connecting the Remote Desktop session. Once I connect the Remote Desktop session, the HP LaserJet P2015 printer still does not show up in the list of printers available to print to. Any more ideas? Thanks, Daniel Daniel @ M&M Consulting
