Problems sharing a drive over my network...
So, here's my problem. I have a media center PC running Windows 7 RC with two drives installed. One drive is a primary (80GB OS partition) and a secondary drive (1TB data drive) and I'm trying to share my entire secondary drive. When I tried to share this drive, I changed all of the settings in Network and Sharing Center to be open (Password Protection off, Access to everyone. things like that)When I tried to share this drive, I clicked "Share" and the only option was "Advanced Sharing Options". Within this window I was able to enable sharing, and select it to share to "Everyone", however when I try to access it on my Vista machine, I get permission errors. Anyone know why or how I'm supposed to share a drive with Windows 7 to allow full permision Read/Write without a password to a vista machine?

Try adding everyone to both sharing and security permissions with full control. Stop password protection and restart network sharing. That may help

To share the whole drive, right-click Computer > Manage > Storage > Disk Management then right-click the drive graphic > Properties > Sharing Tab > Advanced Sharing > tick Share this folder and type in a Share Name > Apply > OK. Now go to the Security Tab > Edit > Add then type Everyone (not the quotes) > Check Names > OK and below it select your preferences, e.g. Full Control, etc. > Apply > Reply Yes to any security message > Keep pressing OK to any deny messages > OK, etc. to finish.
