I have a Compaq Presario C700 with Windows Vista Home Basic. I have used my wireless to connect to wireless networks for almost 2 years. 4 days ago my computer froze when I was accessing a website. I had to manually shut it down(holding the power button) and restart. When my computer restarted I got the dependency service or group error message when I tried to connect to a wireless network. It says I am connected but I can not acces IE. I tried to restart my computer again several times and do a system restore several times none of which worked or corrected the problem.I have tried the sfc/scannow, I have looked through the services menu which my WLAN is on and started, i was going to do the regedit thing but instead of changing it from 4 to 2 like others have mine is set to 3 which as other people with the 3 setting have had no luck with doing that. I need to get my wireless thing working again as I have online college classes.Can anyone please please help me get this problem resolved? I have tried everything I have read in the forums. PLEASE???Also, when I try to turn on certain service like Base filtering engine I get an error 5 message saying access is denied?????
