Problems with playing DVD copies
I have a new desktop computer with Windows 7 and Microsoft 2007 and as a senior have had difficulty understanding some of them. Particularly I need to copy some discs of TV ads and the like that I have done,so I can send them to other people. But some of the originals will play and some won't. Some copies will play and some don't. How can I resolve this problem? And please don't get too technical - just basic information.

Were the discs written on the same system you are now trying to play them back on? What program did you use to burn the discs? Some programs have an option to close the disc, preventing writing additional info, and this can sometimes prevent it from play on another device. It's is very difficult to diagnose a problem with extremely limited information, so expound a bit if you can.

Hi Shikey, Are the "some of the originals" and "Some copies" referred to the same TV ads? If so, I suspect the original copy of the TV ads files are corrupted. Please test the issue on another machine and see if they can be played properly. If the files can be played on other computers properly, could you please let us know the following information? - What are the file type of the files which cannot be played? Are they .avi files? - Which media player you are using to play the files? Is it Windows Media Player? - Can the files be played properly after copying them to the local hard disk? - Is there any error message occurred when trying to play the files? If so, could you please write the exact error message? Regards, Linda
