Programmatic setup IE8 proxy, port, exceptions under Windows 7.
Hi All, We update IE8 setting (proxy, port, exceptions) by changing corresponding keys in the registry. Under Windows 7 this change is performed only one time. All following attemps are failed. This issue doesn't appear under Vista or XP. Changes are always applied independently of number of attempts. Do you know how we can make such changes dynamically under Windows 7?WBR, Rustam.

Hi RustamR, It is better if you can clarify the registry key you have changed in detail. If you have changed the key under HKEY_CURRENT_USER, you should better try to change the key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Besides, the change may be not able to apply to all the user accounts. You can try to change the corresponding key under the default user account. Refer to the link below to add the settings for all users: How to Add a Default Printer for All New Users Regards. Cecilia Zhou Hi RustamR, I suppose you have added the registry keys under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings. Dont you? Generally, you should add the following keys: 1. A DWORD value, value name ProxyEnable, value data 1. 2. A String value, value name ProxyServer, set the value data to Proxy Server, such as "proxy.hinet.net". 3. A String value, value name ProxyOverride, value data local. After that, you should also add the same values under HKEY_USER\DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings. Then the changes will deploy to all the user accounts. Regards.
