Read-Only Access to Offline Folder - Only when Offline
I have a desktop and laptop, and my laptop's My Documents has been redirected to \\server\users\me\My Documents. When I am home, this works perfectly. I can access the files, edit them, create new ones, etc. However when I am off the network, I have read-only access to the files and cannot create anything new. In a prior implementation, when I was running offline folders off an SBS server, it worked perfectly with full access even when offline. But not now. I am running Windows 7 Professional on both machines. Any tips?

I suspect that the offline files cache is corrupt. You may clear the cache and re-sync the folder when you are online. How to reinitialize the cache of offline files ============================== 1. Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Continue. 2. Locate the following registry subkey, and then right-click it: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\CSC 3. Point to New, and then click Key. 4. Type Parameters in the box. 5. Right-click Parameters, point to New, and then click DWORD (32-bit)Value. 6. Type FormatDatabase, and then press ENTER. 7. Right-click FormatDatabase, and then click Modify. 8. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK. 9. Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.Arthur Xie - MSFT
