I haveCompaq Presario R3306US Notebook PC with Windows XP. The normal speed is 1.6GHz. I’ve got a virus on my machine and reinstalled the Operating System , Now my PC shows in the System Property a speed797MHz!!! I am a Cablevision customer with security provided by Computer Associates but CA gave up.How can I restore the normal speed?Thanks in advance.Boris

Is the computer really slower than it used to be? Do you really notice any difference? This might just be a cosmetic issue.Did you install the motherboard & chipset drivers?Does the Device Manager show the proper processor speed?John
