Registry error
My internet explorer 8 does not show any videos using flash, in fact, it does not even recognise that Flash is installed. I have tried everything. I have determined that it is a REGISTRY ERROR.I ran something that said it would fix it, but it didnt. I want to be able to run flash in IE8. Some whacked up registry prevents me. Adobe does not offer free support. What should I do, or where should I go to get some answers?1 person needs an answerI do too

Do you mean to install flash plugin for internet explorer.. Visit: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ you will get option to install flash player 10.1.To open a flash file with Internet explorer, right click the flash file, click open with, select choose program and select internet explorer and tickmark "Always use selected program to use this kind of file".Hope this helps.

1. I have determined that it is a REGISTRY ERROR.2. I ran something that said it would fix it, but it didnt.1. How did you do that?2. A Registry Cleaner? These forums contain numerous warnings not to use a Registry Cleaner!Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Flash?Hope this helps, Gerry Cornell

It wasnt a registry cleaner, is was SubInACL, instructions I followed fromhttp://kb2.adobe.com/cps/494/cpsid_49419.html.I have uninstalled, installed, reinstalled again and again, both IE8 and Adobe flash from their site. Firefox works fine, and by all means IE should work just as well.

Is your hardware 32 bit or 64 bit?Did you explore this link?http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html#main_Determine32bitHope this helps, Gerry Cornell

32 bit. When I look to see what version I have installed in IE, there is just a box with a red x in the top left. When I look to see what version I have installed with Firefox, I see that I have version "10,1,102,64" installed. When I try to download adobe flash from IE8, nothing pops up. No information bar, nothing asking about active x, nothing at all pops up for me to allow. All of my internet settings are default, as I have reinstalled IE8 and made sure everything was set to default. I have even tried lowering the settings to see if the download started, but it didn't. My firewall is not preventing anything, and neither is antivirus software. I looked under my addons on IE, and did not see "Shockwave Flash Object" so I attempted to download it fromhttp://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/ts/documents/tn_19166/Install_Flash_Player_10_ActiveX.zip to which my computer responded that I am trying to install an old version. So, new question, Why is the adobe download not popping up when I try to download from the site, and what else can I try to install the addon?

Oh, and I do see Shockwave ActiveX Control loaded in IE's addon manager, it is enabled, and version 10.2.

Don't know why I didn't try this earlier. I went back to the link that told me I was running a newer version than what I wanted to install.I uninstalled Flash from my computer completely, and went back to that link, which washttp://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/ts/documents/tn_19166/Install_Flash_Player_10_ActiveX.zipNow, I believe I have an older version of flash, but, it works. Thank you for y'alls time and help.
