Reinstall IE 8?
I am having a problem with adware I can't get removed. I am getting constant popup windows that can't be blocked. Is it possible to reinstall IE 8 from the Win 7 dvd without reinstalling Windows? I have tried installing IE 9 Beta, and run many Norton IS deep virus and anti-adware scans but the problem persists. I have also tried doing registry scans using PC Tools Registry Mechanic but that hasn't helped either. All suggestions are welcome!1 person needs an answerI do too

you can reinstall the browser a hundred times but it is not the cause of the adware, simply the vehicle the adware is using. and as long as the adware and spyware is installed, it will seek out the browser.sometimes this is possible because there is malware load themselves at boot time via the startup configuration. so a clean boot would be helpful during your analysis and process of elimination.another affect may be browswer hijacking in which case a utility called "hijack this" may be helpful. first do a scan with it. then look at the R0 and R1 items. if i recall these levels apply to the browser. then see if any of them seem to be related to the products or manufacturers that are pushing themselves via the browser. if so, then clearly these should be removed. however, there are acceptable entries that are helpful hijacks. these are the ones that are related to microsoft, like msn, bing, etc.another utility that can be helpful is called spybot. it can work on the hosts file that the browser uses and innoculate the evil entries. db`...>-)))> `...>-)))> share the nirvana mann
